Today we try styling and photographing. I don’t think I did very well today, I wasn’t very efficient in completing the task and didn’t produce anything that I was satisfied with within the limited time. I was not in the best of spirits during class, so in the future, I hope to be able to adjust myself as soon as possible so that no matter what happens, I don’t miss out on the next day’s task. This time the homework I did was after class and took more time to complete on my own, which would have wasted a lot of time. Just don’t do that in the future, Emma.

PPD Questions:

1:How do you benefit from interactions with classmates?

Because photography requires at least two people to work together, it is important to communicate with another person. Ideas and opinions of both need to be known and then exchanged to get collaborative work. I don’t think it’s an easy thing to do. But effective communication makes it much more efficient to get the work done, and it also adds some different elements to the work, which make it more interesting. And also, in a way, when communicating with my classmates, I can always receive some comments, which will be really helpful to the modifications.

2:How can I learn from the challenges in this project to create a positive future for myself?

Through this class, first of all, I learnt some techniques and steps to take when photographing, such as composition techniques when photographing and post-processing techniques, which will be of good help when processing images in the future. Secondly, I have also improved my ability to work and communicate with others. This kind of effective cooperation is very helpful for the completion of the work and can greatly improve efficiency. Finally, I also realized about the necessity of adjusting my own mentality, how to achieve separation between life and study, not to be disturbed by other things while studying and maintain good concentration, which I think is very important in the future in both study and work.

3:What habits might you need to develop to encourage you to challenge self-complacency and procrastination?

First of all, for self-complacency, I think we should talk to our teachers more often, keep a relatively humble mind and listen to their advice. Even if a piece of work is already excellent, there are still things that it does not do very well and there is room for improvement. I think it is a good way to listen to other people’s advice. Secondly, regarding procrastination, I think it is important to make a timetable for yourself, plan your time in advance and complete your tasks separately rather than leaving them to the end. If you have a clear plan of time and the patience to complete your assignments, then you will be much more efficient and you won’t have to pile up too many assignments to finish at once.
